Ordinary A514 grade J alloy steel plate carbon steel mainly refers to the steel whose mechanical properties depend on the carbon content in the steel, and generally does not add a lot of alloy elements. Ordinary carbon steel is the abbreviation of ordinary carbon structural steel. Carbon content is less than 0.38%, and less than 0.25% is the most commonly used. It belongs to low carbon steel. In the Chinese standard, each metal grade indicates the low yield point of the steel when the thickness is less than 16mm. Compared with high-quality carbon steel, the limitation of carbon content, performance range, phosphorus, sulfur and other residual elements is wider for ordinary carbon steel.
The basic phases of A514 grade J alloy steel plate, structural steel in the annealed state are ferrite and carbide. The alloy elements are dissolved in ferrite to form alloy ferrite, which depends on solid solution strengthening to increase strength and hardness, but at the same time reduce plasticity and toughness. The addition of alloying elements reduces the carbon content of the eutectoid point, which increases the proportion of pearlite in the structure and reduces the distance of the pearlite layer. This also increases the strength of the steel and reduces the plasticity.
The main uses of flat steel are as follows. First, flat steel is used as a raw material for processing steel plates, which is convenient for transportation, takes up a small space, and can save transportation costs. Second, A514 grade J alloy steel plate flat steel can be used as raw material for processing welded pipes. Flat steel can be a finished steel product, or it can be used as a billet for welded pipes and thin slabs for stacked sheets. Third, flat steel can be directly used as a steel structure. As a finished material, flat steel can be used for making hoop iron, tools and mechanical parts, and used as building frame structure and escalator in construction. Fourth, the flat steel has a smooth surface and a certain degree of beauty.
