In October 23th, 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) in Zhuhai, South China’s Guangdong Province. The HZMB is a 55-kilometre (34 mi) bridge–tunnel system consisting of a series of ASTM A588 high strength steel three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel, and four artificial islands.
