ASTM A36 is a common mild steel(carbon structure steel grade). It is widely used in morden industry owning to its cheapest rolling cost and easiest welding. ASTM A514 quenched and tempered steel, ASTM A36 mild steel is equivalent to grade Q235B under Chinese steel standard, grade S235JR under European steel standard EN 10025-2, grade SS400 in Japanese steel standard. These mild steel plates and sections are commonly bolted and riveted in structural applications.
