If the wall thickness of the elbow is relatively thick, it is best to perform stress relief heat treatment on the weldment immediately after welding. This is especially true for large-thickness weldments Q235B, high-rigidity structural parts, and weldments that work under severe conditions (dynamic load or impact load). The tempering temperature for stress relief is 600～650℃. For thin-walled elbows, stress heat treatment is not necessary after welding.
EN10083-3 42CrMo4 steel plate delivery status: Heat treatment (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or non-heat treatment delivery status should be specified in the contract. EN10083-3 42CrMo4 steel plate equivalent materials: JIS SCM440, AISI 4140, GB 42CrMo, ASTM A709 bridge steel plate etc. EN10083-3 42CrMo4 steel plate has high intensity, high hardenability, high fatigue strength and good low-temperature impact toughness.
Penetration testing technology is only suitable for detecting surface defects. It uses penetrant to apply on the surface of the ASTM A709 bridge steel plate steel plate, then wipes the excess penetrant with the cleaning solution, and then smears the developer. The penetrant remaining in the defect is adsorbed by the developing material, so as to observe the shape of the defect and determine the type of defect. This ASTM A709 bridge steel plate method requires multiple wipes before and after the inspection, the process is more cumbersome, and can not detect internal defects and rough and dirty steel plates.
