A572 grade 50 CS steel carbon plate, Q345R (HIC) and Q345R (R-HIC) plates are smelted by electric furnace + refining outside the furnace. The smelting process is Ca-treated, and should be intrinsically fine-grained steel. The actual grain size is 5 or above.
