Weathering steel generally adopts the process route of fine material into the furnace-smelting (converter, electric furnace-microalloying treatment-argon blowing-LF refining-low superheat continuous casting (feeding rare earth wire)-controlled rolling and cooling. The scrap steel is added into the furnace together with the charge, and smelted according to the conventional process. After the A514 Gr R alloy steel plate steel is tapped, deoxidizers and alloys are added. After the molten steel is treated with argon blowing, the molten steel is cast. By adding rare earth elements to the steel, the A514 Gr R alloy steel plate weathering steel is purified and the content of inclusions is greatly reduced.
Special boiler steel is derived from carbon structural steel. The chemical composition of boiler steel is basically the same as that of high-quality carbon structural steel of the same level, but the A514 Gr R alloy steel plate steel mechanical property requirements are more strict, especially for impact toughness. And the aging sensitivity is required to be small. The boiler steel should be deoxidized and the non-metallic inclusions should be removed during smelting. The structure should be uniform. The grain size should be controlled in 3-7 grades. The defects such as interlayer, shrinkage, porosity and porosity should be minimized.
