Weathering steel generally adopts the process route of fine material into the furnace-smelting (converter, electric furnace-microalloying treatment-argon blowing-LF refining-low superheat continuous casting (feeding rare earth wire)-controlled rolling and cooling. The scrap steel is added into the furnace together with the charge, and smelted according to the conventional process. After the A573 Gr 70 plate steel is tapped, deoxidizers and alloys are added. After the molten steel is treated with argon blowing, the molten steel is cast. By adding rare earth elements to the steel, the A573 Gr 70 plate weathering steel is purified and the content of inclusions is greatly reduced.
In 2013, one of our clients in Korea purchased 890 tons Q345B square tube from us for one building construction project. Our clients required no burr in the side of the tube, we finally produce the goods with great condition and +/-0.25mm tolerance for wall thickness, which is a very great tolerance with customers’ required size. Our square tube full available range is 2-16mm for wall thickness, and 40-500mm for width. In addition, our Q/C department will seriously control all of the process of every order.

A573 Gr 70 plate, A537 class 1 boiler plate chemical elements include C, Si, Mn, P, S, Mo, Ni, etc. Among them, the carbon content is 0.24 max., Si content is 0.13-0.55%, Mn content is 0.92-1.72%, the max. contents for both P and S are 0.035%, the Mo content is 0.09% max, and the Ni content is 0.38% max. A537 class 1 boiler plate properties: A537 class 1 boiler plate tensile strength is 450-585 MPa, min. yield strength is 310 MPa, and min. elongation in 2 in.(50mm) is 18%.
