A514 Gr Q steel sheet is structural quality, high yield strength, quenched and tempered alloy steel plate in thickness of 150mm and under. It is used in structural applications that require high yield strength combined with good formability and toughness.
A514 Gr Q steel sheet has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi up to 2.5 inches in thickness and 90 ksi for plates greater than 2.5 inches up to 6 inches in thickness. A514 Gr Q plate is intended primarily for use in welded bridges and other structures.
High yield strength A514 Gr Q steel sheet may be ordered with supplemental Charpy V-notch toughness test requirements. It can be used to manufacture transport trailers, construction equipment, crane booms, mobile aerial work platforms, agriculture equipment, heavy vehicle frames and chassis, etc.
